Notae (Notes)
Keyed to the text, but appearing in blue or lilac are notes. Supplied only for book 2, note numbers highlighted in lilac provide an indication of some of the differences between the redactio brevior presented here and the redactio longior preserved in Florence (F853) and Madrid (M3314).
Notes in blue indicate the sources of the commentary in Aristotle, Averroes, etc. and its subsequent influence. Thus the reader will find in the notes quotations from subsequent authors who borrowed from Rufus in commenting on Aristotle's De anima or whose comments on parallel passages seem to us to make clearer what Rufus intended.
Where the notes include extensive quotations, these do not appear on the page unless the reader clicks on them. Clicking once on a series of highlighted blue dots will reveal the material that has been omitted; clicking twice conceals it once again.
